How Fundraising Works

Three steps. No new tools to learn. It's built right into your existing Tiplor dashboard.

1

Create a fundraiser

Give it a name, an optional beneficiary (food bank, hospital, community group), set a goal amount if you want, and use the slider to choose your split — 100% to the cause, 50/50, or anything between.

2

Go live

Your tip page instantly shows the cause badge, beneficiary name, and progress bar. Fans see exactly where their money goes before choosing an amount. Save as draft first if you're not ready.

3

Settle with the cause

When you're done, mark the fundraiser complete. The report shows gross raised, net after fees, and exactly what's owed. Record the payout — e-transfer, cash, cheque — with notes for your records.

Built for Both Sides of the Stage

Artists and venues can launch fundraisers independently — no coordination needed.

For Artists

  • Fund a new album, gear, studio time, or tour
  • Support a charity or community cause you care about
  • Set a goal with a progress bar fans can watch grow
  • Use the slider to split tips between you and the cause

For Venues

  • Run benefit nights for food banks, hospitals, or community groups
  • Fund a sound system, stage upgrades, or staff tip pool
  • Reports break down who owes what when artists are performing
  • Track cause settlements with full payout records

Fundraising FAQ

Q: Does fundraising cost extra?

No. Fundraising is included in every Tiplor account at no additional cost. The standard 15% fee applies to all tips (Stripe processing + Tiplor platform fee) — there are no extra fundraising charges.

Q: Can I keep some of the tips for myself during a fundraiser?

Yes. Every fundraiser has an allocation slider — you choose what percentage goes to the cause and what percentage goes to you. Set it to 100% for a full charity night, or 50/50 if you want to split between you and the cause.

Q: What happens to the money?

Tips are still processed through Stripe and deposited into your account as usual. The fundraiser report tracks how much is owed to the cause. When you end the campaign, you settle with the beneficiary directly (e-transfer, cash, cheque) and record it in the system for your records.

Q: Can venues and artists both run fundraisers?

Yes. Artists launch fundraisers from their artist dashboard. Venues launch them from their venue dashboard. They work independently — no approval needed from the other side.

Q: What if a venue runs a fundraiser during a gig with an artist?

The venue's fundraiser report includes a gig breakdown showing which tips came through which artist. If tip splitting is active, the report calculates what the venue owes vs. what the artist owes toward the cause.

Q: Can I set a goal with a deadline?

Yes. You can set a goal amount (shows a progress bar to fans), an end date, and optionally enable auto-complete so the fundraiser ends automatically when the goal is reached.

Q: What do fans see?

When a fundraiser is active, your tip page shows a cause badge with the beneficiary name, a progress bar if there's a goal, and a confirmation that the tip supports the cause. No separate page — it's built right into the tipping experience.
